CAN PROTOCOL

CAN PROTOCOL TUTORIAL
CAN bus protocol is the one of the popular and widely used bus in the automotive domain and it is also the one of the best communication bus in the industrial communication(example CAN OPEN).It is also used in defense, avionics. In CAN bus protocol communication the massage handling and error handling, massage priority all are done very well. This is the reason all CAN COMMUNICATION become very popular now days.
Controller Area Network (CAN) or CAN bus protocol originally developed by Bosch in 1985 for vehicle MCU networks. Earlier automotive manufacturers connected electronic devices using point-to-point wiring systems. Manufacturers started more electronics in vehicles, which resulted in more wire and heavyweight and expensive. Then they replaced CAN bus protocol. In CAN bus protocol wiring is very easy , which reduced wiring cost, complexity, weight and flexibility .CAN bus protocol is a high-integrity serial bus protocol for networking intelligent devices. All automotive industries quickly started using CAN and, in 1994, it became the international standard known as ISO 11898. Since 1995, several higher-level protocols have been standardized on CAN, such as EtherCAT ,CANopen and DeviceNet. Other markets like automation ,robotics and motion controls have extensively adopted these additional protocols
